Help Us Find You in an Emergency

The Ellsworth Fire Department is asking all Township residents and business owners to assist fire, EMS, and law enforcement personnel by providing clear and visible address identification on their homes and businesses.

Many properties throughout the Township do not have address numbers that can be easily seen from the roadway. Dark numbers on a dark background, numbers hidden by trees or decorations, and numbers that are not illuminated can be extremely difficult for emergency personnel to see—especially at night.

To help us locate you quickly:

-Use numbers that contrast clearly with the background.
-Numbers should be at least 3 inches high and ½ inch wide.
-Place numbers where they are plainly visible and legible from the street or road.
-Use reflective or illuminated numbers whenever possible.
-Keep numbers clear of trees, shrubs, decorations, and snow.
-Clearly mark homes located along long or shared driveways at the roadway.
-If numbers are displayed on a mailbox, place them on both sides and include an arrow pointing toward the residence.

In an emergency, every second counts. Clear address identification helps us find you faster.
